  • Patent number: 9852409
Abstract: Systems and related methods facilitating interactions between a merchant device, a central system and a consumer device are discussed herein. Wallet identifying data may be used to secure messages between the consumer device and the merchant device over a wireless link. For example, the merchant device may include circuitry configured to wirelessly receive the wallet identifying data from a consumer device and to transmit the wallet identifying data to the central system. In response, consumer identifying data associated with the wallet identifying data may be received by the merchant device from the central system. In some embodiments, the consumer identifying data may be associated with a unit of location, such as a dine-in location at a restaurant, to facilitate consumer service.

  • Publication number: 20160275476
Abstract: Systems and related methods facilitating payments with a mobile device are discussed herein. Circuitry in a networked-based payment system may be configured to receive payment information from a first device. The first device may include circuitry configured to wirelessly receive wallet identifying data from the payment system. The wallet identifying data may be used to secure messages between the first device and another device over a wireless link. For example, the first device may be configured to send the wallet identifying data to a second device, which may then communicate with the payment system. In response, consumer identifying data associated with the wallet identifying data may be received by the second device from the payment system. In some embodiments, use of wallet identifying data may be applied to other communications, such as for messages that authorize payment.

  • Patent number: 8639648
Abstract: The invention concerns a method for determining priority of a data item, the data item being sent from at least one first terminal or service associable with the first terminal to a second terminal and evaluated using a set of first rules associable with the sender of a data item and a set of second rules associable with the recipient of a data item. The invention is characterized in that the data item is associated with at least one tag characterizing the data item, weight factor for the data item is maintained using the set of first rules and the value of the at least one tag, the weight factor of the data item is made adjustable by the set of second rules and the data item is rendered on the second terminal using at least the weight factor information. Also an arrangement implementing the method is disclosed.

  • Patent number: 7407107
Abstract: An apparatus, system method, and computer program product for creating shortcuts to functions of a personal communication device that includes the use of an RF tag reader in personal communication device and RF tags placed different locations pertinent to a user. Upon receipt of the RF information, the personal communication device executes a preset shortcut stored in a memory, and prompts a user to select or create a new shortcut. The memory location for storing a shortcut can be the memory in the personal communication device, the memory in an RF tag or the memory in a network server. The shortcut includes at least a RF tag ID; a description of a command, macro or script and information defining the format and properties of the shortcut. Upon execution of the shortcut, and application program is selected for controlling a function of the personal communication device.

  • Publication number: 20040186768
Abstract: Merchant-media information is communicated to a selected user in response to a user identification (ID) being presented at a media location. According to one example embodiment, a user presents an ID tag to an ID tag reader at a merchant-media arrangement (e.g., a billboard, display screen, audio speaker or advertisement) having a media content ID. The ID tag communicates a user ID to the ID tag reader, and an information request signal including data representing the user ID and the media content ID is sent to a remote server. The remote server uses the user ID and the media content ID to send media content information (e.g., product data, a discount voucher, etc.) to a user address. With this approach, users can request and/or receive information at a point-of-use media display.
