  • Publication number: 20220357576
Abstract: A virtual image display device includes a light source, an image member, a Fresnel lens array having an array structure of Fresnel lens units. Each of the Fresnel lens units includes divided lens surfaces that commonly curve convexly or concavely. The array structure includes eccentric Fresnel lens units as the Fresnel lens units. The divided lens surfaces have curvature centers offset from an individual center axis line. Each of the eccentric Fresnel lens units has an offset amount defined as a distance of the curvature centers from the individual center axis line. The offset amount of the eccentric Fresnel lens unit having a larger value of the inter-axis distance between the overall reference axis line and the individual center axis line is greater than the offset amount of the eccentric Fresnel lens unit having a smaller value of the inter-axis distance.

  • Patent number: 10437056
Abstract: A head-up display device virtually displays an image to be viewable by an occupant by projecting the image on a projection member located above an instrument panel of a vehicle in a vehicle upward direction. Assuming that a direction along an up-down direction of the vehicle when the image is virtually displayed is defined as a vertical direction of the image, the head-up display device includes a projector that projects an image as light polarized in a polarization direction intersecting the vertical direction of the image and a reflecting mirror that reflects and redirects the light of the image from the projector toward the projection member, on an optical path between the projector and the projection member, and has a difference between S polarization reflectance and P polarization reflectance for the light from the projector.
