    Abstract: An intraocular lens includes a lens body and a plurality of flexible haptics angularly spaced around the periphery of the lens body. The normally extended haptics are capable of being compressed towards the lens body and detachably held thereon, so that the haptics are essentially within the confines of the lens body, thereby reducing the overall dimension of the lens. A manipulator may be detachably secured to the lens body to facilitate handling and positioning of the lens within the eye.
