  • Patent number: 8979009
Abstract: A gyratory crusher, which includes a bowl, a head assembly and a cylindrical eccentric assembly. The bowl is shaped as a cone and has a wider opening approaching a top portion of the crusher, and an inner shell, which is backed by a concrete outer shell. The head assembly is shaped as a cone, and is centrally located within the bowl. The head assembly also includes a central mainshaft which is located on an inclined axis within the bowl. The cylindrical eccentric assembly includes an eccentric central volume in which the main shaft is held so that, as the eccentric assembly rotates, the mainshaft gyrates, with the eccentric assembly rotating about a center hole within a central hub of the crusher. A method of making or retrofitting a crushing device such as, for example, a cone crusher or other gyratory crusher, is also provided.

  • Patent number: 8328125
Abstract: A gearbox assembly for a gyratory crusher and/or cone crusher, which includes a drive shaft having a rotational movement, and a drive shaft gear attached to a distal end of the drive shaft. The drive shaft gear imparts a rotational movement of the drive shaft to a first gearing assembly, the first gearing assembly imparting a second rotational movement to a second gearing assembly, the second gearing assembly imparting a third rotational movement of the second gearing assembly to drive a ring gear, and wherein the ring gear is attached to and rotates an eccentric assembly of the gyratory crusher and/or cone crusher. The cone crusher is preferably configured to crush rock, stone, ore or minerals. A method of making or retrofitting a crushing device such as, for example, a cone crusher or other gyratory crusher, is also provided.

  • Patent number: 8308095
Abstract: A system 100 and method for clearing a crushing device 1 of tramp material is disclosed. The system comprises at least one dual-acting cylinder 70 which serves to both maintain a constant crushing force between a head 500 and bowl 400, and also provide a clearing stroke to facilitate passage of said tramp material. The body of the at least one dual-acting cylinder 70 is mounted securely to a main frame 300 in a self-centering, self-seating arrangement by cylinder mount 40. The piston rod 30 of the at least one dual-acting cylinder 70 is directly or indirectly mounted securely to an adjustment ring 200 in a self-centering, self-seating arrangement. The piston rod 30 comprises a first securing member 10 and a second securing member 20. A mounting portion 202 associated with the adjustment ring 200 is captured between the first 10 and second 20 securing members of the piston rod 30.
