  • Patent number: 6050869
Abstract: A floatable marine rescue snare is provided comprising one or more buoyant elongate rods axially connected by a tie line and formed in a loop, with a slippage device fixed to one end of the snare and slidably engaged with a portion of the snare between its two ends. The tie line connects to a rescue rope by which it may be thrown to a victim. Once looped around the upper torso of the victim, the snare can be tightened by pulling on the rescue rope to secure a rescue link while the buoyant body of the snare maintains the victim afloat.

  • Patent number: 5370434
Abstract: The invention provides a retrieval device for retrieving floating objects from the surface of a body of water. The device comprises an extensible boom formed by a semi-rigid, non-resilient, buoyant cable and a grab device attached to one end of the cable. The cable is adapted to be stowed within a portable housing when not in use, and to be extended therefrom for use. The housing is a hollow, doughnut-shaped housing providing a toroidally-shaped interior passage adapted to accommodate the cable and to coil it as it is inserted into the passage.

  • Patent number: 4727224
Abstract: A clamp for a transmission wire has a clamping arm which travels on a captive bolt assembly and which may be pivoted away from a clamp saddle without disengaging the bolt assembly. The clamp may be manipulated with one hand, requiring a wrench as the only tool to tighten or loosen the clamping arm. The clamp is especially suitable for use in live line applications, since the risk of electrical shock is minimized by virtue of its structure.

  • Patent number: 4579306
Abstract: A clamp is provided for holding an electrical transmission line at the end of an insulator on a transmission pole or tower. The clamp comprises an arm which may be pivoted over a transmission line seated in a saddle portion of the clamp body. The arm is locked in place to hold the line by means of a screw or bolt which engages the end thereof. The clamp is capable of remote manipulation by conventional live line tools thereby providing greatly increased safety over presently known devices.
