  • Patent number: 5403532
Abstract: A process for the production of a gasket is described, in which at least on one side and at least on all bearing points in the use case a three-dimensional sealing surface complimentary to the deflection of the surfaces to be sealed is permanently shaped prior to assembly, as well as a tool for performing the process. An assembly pattern is produced in such a way that a plastically deformable material is fixed between the surfaces to be sealed. A negative copy or form of the assembly pattern is produced on the circumferential surface and the gasket is produced accompanied by the rolling of the stamping roller.

  • Patent number: 5391333
Abstract: A gasket, particularly a cylinder head gasket is described, which is made from a pressure-resistant and non-deformable material. Unlike in the case of the known gaskets, it is permanently shaped prior to assembly. The sealing surface is shaped complimentary to the deflection or sagging of the surfaces to be sealed, so that at all bearing points in the use case there is the thickness distribution required for a necessary pressure distribution. The corresponding topography is obtained in that a deformable assembly pattern is fixed under operating conditions between the surfaces to be sealed and copies are made of said assembly pattern.

  • Patent number: 5134975
Abstract: A fan for cooling an engine is adjusted as a function of the engine speed. The fan has a hydraulic clutch in which a sliding adjustment is made as a function of the temperature of the engine coolant. The drive shaft of the hydraulic clutch is designed as a hollow shaft in which the coolant circulates. The hollow shaft also contains a thermostat which actuates the tappet of a valve in the hydraulic clutch to regulate the flow. The valve is preferably designed as a disk valve in contact with the return openings of the hydraulic clutch. In order to cool the hydraulic clutch, the pump wheel is designed as a hollow body which communicates with the liquid circulating in the hollow shaft.

  • Patent number: 4827589
Abstract: A method for the manufacture of a closed plastic pump rotor is described. The mold comprises two outer casting mold shells and an intermediate core, whose shaping determines the shape of the guide vanes and flow channels of the rotor. The core is made from a material, whose melting point is below that of the plastic to be cast. The core is melted following the curing of the plastic.

  • Patent number: 4762465
Abstract: The water pump impeller comprises a boss with a disk part shaped thereon and a circular or paraboloid transition region is provided between the boss and the disk part. A metal reinforcing disk is embedded round on either side by injection moulding in the disk part, including the transition region. The reinforcing disk has as a component of the boss, a boss part with which it can be mounted on a drive shaft.
