  • Publication number: 20080236110
Abstract: An improved method for manufacturing collapsible tube containers for fluid materials, including the known steps of providing a hollow tube, forming an integrated compression-molded shoulder having a dispensing opening, and applying a selectively removable closure. The method includes the novel step of positioning a means for applying the closure in coaxial relation to the tube, and applying the closure while the tube is supported on a mandrel used for supporting the tube during formation of the shoulder, rather than applying the closure at another location.

  • Publication number: 20080093379
Abstract: A collapsible tube construction for dispensing a fluid material such as toothpaste, and the like, which employs a hinged lid or closure. The construction includes a shoulder element having a dispensing orifice which seals an open end of the tube when engaged by the lid element. One of the lid element and shoulder element forms a recess communicating with the periphery thereof, the other of said lid element and shoulder element forming an axially-extending tab including a hinge, and end portion of the tab engaging the recess to be retained therein. An inner surface of the lid element includes an axially-aligned projection which selectively engages the dispensing orifice when the lid element is in closed condition.

  • Patent number: 7275884
Abstract: A fluid dispensing device for applying fluids which dry and harden with exposure to ambient air, typically glues and the like. The device includes a sponge applicator. A flexible container element has a first thread for engaging a dispensing element, including the applicator. A neck portion of the container element includes a second thread on an outer surface thereof for selective engagement with a cap-like cover which encloses the sponge and prevents drying of the same during periods in which the device is not in use. The sponge includes an axially-aligned passage interconnecting directly with the neck portion, so that the squeezing of the container element transfers the dispensed fluid directly to an outer surface of the sponge for application to a treated surface.
