Patent number: 8990197Abstract: A distributed information network is constructed for gathering information from sites distributed across a globally accessible computer network, i.e., the Internet. The distributed information network preferably includes a root server that stores a list of multiple distributed sites each represented by metadata. A network browser delivers an information search request to the root server, which in response develops a profiled information search request. The information provider of each of the distributed sites stores metadata corresponding to information content that is retrievable in response to the profiled information search request for search results derivable from the information content to which the metadata correspond. A profiled information communication link between the root server and each of the multiple distribution sites enables formation of a path for delivery of the search results to a destination site, from a site or sites represented by the metadata of the profiled information search request.Type: GrantFiled: December 3, 2013Date of Patent: March 24, 2015Assignee: Thinkstream, Inc.Inventors: Michael K. Malone, Jon David Loucks, Robert K. Terhune, III, Cameron W. Cotrill

Patent number: 7527467Abstract: A retractable ramp system for a mobility vehicle. A ramp platform is driven by a reversible motor, associated drive pulley, and drive belt affixed to a ramp carriage assembly. A spring-loaded mechanical release assembly is used to engage the drive pulley to the motor and to disengage the drive pulley from the motor. A manual control assembly is used for manual deployment of the ramp when the drive pulley is disengaged from the motor. The ramp flap provides a transition between the ramp platform and a mobility vehicle. The ramp flap is supported by wheels which translate along the ramp platform. Linear bearing blocks attach to pivot arms of the carriage assembly, which are in turn pivotably attached to the ramp platfom. Linear bearing blocks translate the ramp platform along guide shafts during deployment and stowage.Type: GrantFiled: January 7, 2004Date of Patent: May 5, 2009Assignee: The Braun CorporationInventors: Paul H. Publication number: 20060287879Abstract: Methods, systems, and computer program products assess and manage work-related musculoskeletal injuries associated with one or more work sites. A method involves defining musculoskeletal injury categories and drawing relationships between the musculoskeletal injury categories by applying specialized medical knowledge. The relationships prevent informational disconnect between slightly disparate diagnoses between physicians who evaluate a same patient for the work-related musculoskeletal injury. The method also involves structuring storage of the relationships in a relational database, gathering for each work site, demographics and statistics on work-related musculoskeletal injuries associated with at least one of relatively high lost time or relatively high medical cost, and utilizing the relationships and the demographics to compile and retrieve data that facilitates prevention or improved resolution of the musculoskeletal injury.Type: ApplicationFiled: June 16, 2006Publication date: December 21, 2006Inventor: K. Malone

Publication number: 20060206027Abstract: Methods, systems, and computer program products assess injuries to elite athletes. A method involves receiving historical data associated with the athlete and receiving performance data from a functional assessment of the athlete. The functional assessment is designed based on a sport, a position, and/or the injury of the athlete. The method also involves querying a data source for mined data associated with athlete injuries similar to the injury being assessed, generating predictive data relevant to the injury, and analyzing the historical data, the performance data, the mined data, and/or the predictive data to produce a predictive analysis associated with the athlete.Type: ApplicationFiled: March 9, 2006Publication date: September 14, 2006Inventor: K. Patent number: 5059179Abstract: A non-reusable syringe is made up of a hollow barrel with a hypodermic needle in communication with one end of the barrel, and a plunger assembly including a plunger movable in tight-fitting engagement through the interior of the barrel and a plunger shaft which extends axially away from the plunger and is releasably connected to one end of the plunger in such a way that relative rotation of the shaft with respect to the plunger in one direction will cause separation of the shaft from the plunger but reverse rotation will maintain the shaft and plunger in connected relation. A nut or keeper is positioned at the opposite end of the barrel to impart rotation to the shaft in response to axial movement of the shaft through the barrel.Type: GrantFiled: May 15, 1989Date of Patent: October 22, 1991Inventors: David Quatrochi, John K. Malone
