  • Publication number: 20200314956
Abstract: A wireless electronic device is operable for network onboarding in a system having a server and a plurality of network nodes connected on a network to the server. The device operates its transceiver at one or more predefined association frequencies for receipt of a node beacon from any network node among the network nodes, the node beacon including communication parameter data for the originating network node. The device further operates its transceiver, when configured in accordance with the communication parameter data, to transmit an onboarding request for the server, to be received and forwarded by the network node. To the extent that the server receives onboarding requests from the device via more than one network node, the server appoints one of the network nodes for the device and informs the appointed network node, whereby the device is onboarded.

  • Patent number: 10555343
Abstract: A method for improving fairness among devices accessing a radio bandwidth. The devices include a mobile device using the radio bandwidth to access a radio access system using a channel access protocol, wherein the channel access protocol is a collision avoidance-type channel access protocol configured for using a back-off time before transmitting a retransmission (e.g., CSMA). Information is determined from the radio bandwidth. The information is analyzed to determine an adjusted back-off time. The mobile device implements the adjusted back off time before transmitting the retransmission over the radio bandwidth.

  • Patent number: 10348465
Abstract: A cellular multiple-input and multiple-output, MIMO, system comprises a base station having a plurality of antennas. Pilot signals are received by the base station in each frame of a sequence of frames (60). The base station analyzes the pilot signals to determine radio channel properties of radio channels between respectively each one of a plurality of terminals and the base station. The sequence of frames (60) comprises frames of a first frame type (61, 63, 64, 68) and frames of a second frame type (62, 69). Each frame of the second frame type (62, 69) have a greater number of time slots in which the base station receives the pilot signals than each frame of the first frame type (61, 63, 64, 68). The frames of the second frame type (62, 69) are included periodically in the sequence of frames (60).

  • Publication number: 20190076047
Abstract: Determining the location of a body area network enabled device on a user's body and using the location information to determine whether to send instructions or data to the device over the body area network, includes integrating an EMG sensor into a device that is wearable or otherwise meant to be in contact with or close proximity to an intended area of a user's body. The integrated EMG sensor may detect the electrical potential of the user's body at the point of contact. Variance of electrical potential across the user's body may be used to determine information regarding the location of the sensor, and thus, the location of the device on the user's body. The location of the device, in turn, may be used to determine whether to send instructions or data to the device over the body area network.
