Abstract: There is provided a method of manufacture of a hair brush. The method has the steps, in the sequence of, i) forming a base layer in the form of a mesh by way of a first molding step, the base layer defining an upper surface and a lower surface opposite the upper surface, made of a first material selected from a group consisting of polypropylene (PP), nylon, polyoxymethylene (POM) and thermoplastic elastomer (TPE), and including a plurality of recesses with apertures at the upper surface, ii) forming a substrate layer for supporting bristles of the hair brush by a second molding step of overmoulding a finishing layer over the base layer, the finishing layer made of a second material; iii) installing the bristles to the substrate layer at the recesses through the apertures; and iv) assembling the substrate layer installed with the bristles to a casing of the hair brush.

Abstract: There is provided a hair fastener. The hair fastener has an elongate body made of an elastic material stretchable under tension for maximizing holding capability of hair and a locking means at least part of which made of a stiff material. The locking means includes a first member and a second member arranged at opposite ends of the body. The first member and the second member are releasably engageable with each other by way of a mechanical interference fit in that engagement of the first and second members is achieved independent of degree of tension of the elastic body and engagement or disengagement of the first and second members is achieved by way of one hand operation of a user.

Abstract: There is disclosed a hair brush. The brush has an elongate body including a utility portion and a handle portion at opposite ends thereof and defining a longitudinal axis. The utility portion includes a back member acting as a support from which brushing protections extend, and defines a first plane and a second plane perpendicularly intersecting the first plane. The back member is flexibly movable with respect to the handle portion on the first plane and the second plane. The utility portion further includes a pair of spines arranged at opposite sides of the back member for controlling the flexible movement of the back member whereby the extent of control of movement of the back member by the spines are either limited to the movement on only the first plane or substantially more on the first plane than the second plane.

Abstract: One aspect of the present invention is concerned with a method of manufacture of a hair brush. The method has the steps of providing a base member having connection means at circumferential region thereof, providing a sheet material having a plurality of spikes extending from outwardly facing surface of the sheet material, the sheet material and the spikes are integrally formed by injection molding of a plastic(s) material selected from the group consisting of thermoplastics polyester elastomer (TPE-E), polyether block amide copolymer (TPE-A), thermoplastic polyurethane (TPU) and polyurethane (PU), with a hardness from substantially Shore D50 to D65, and with a flexural modulus from 30,000 PSI to 40,000 PSI, assembling the sheet material by fitting perimeter thereof to the circumferential region of the base member, the base member and the connection means are configured to allow the sheet material to secure to the base member. The outwardly facing surface assumes a convex curvature.

Abstract: A hair barrette is provided. The hair barrette has a decorative member defining an outwardly facing surface and an inwardly facing surface, and a closure device. The closure device includes a lever and first and second seat members arranged at opposite ends of the decorative member. One end of the lever is hingedly connected to the second seat member at which the lever is pivotably movably with respect to the decorative member. The closure device is provided with a bridge member raised from the inwardly facing surface of the decorative member and connecting the first and second seat members. The first and second seat members and the lever are made of a first plastic(s) material and the bridge member is made from a more flexible second plastic(s) material. The bridge member is made of polymeric material, has a hardness of Shore D30-70, and is extendible in length to 150-300%.

The clip has a first leg portion and a second leg portion formed from a wire, the wire configured by bending such that the first and second leg portions are biased toward each other and at default lie in contact or at least adjacent to each other, and substantially parallel to each other, for securing hair therebetween. The wire is provided with a first coating of a paint material on an entire surface of the wire. Each of the first and second leg portions forms an outwardly facing surface and an inwardly facing surface, the first and second leg portions being provided with a second coating of an anti-slipping material only over the inwardly facing surface and on the first paint material coating such that the outwardly facing surface of the first and second leg portions is free of the anti-slipping coating.
