More specifically, compositions comprising an effective amount of beneficial bacteria such as Lactobacillus gallinarum, Lactococcus lactis, and Carnobacterium maltaromaticum are provided for the purpose of treating colorectal cancer in a person or for the purpose of reducing a person's risk of later developing colorectal cancer. Corresponding kits and methods are also provided.
