  • Patent number: 9607076
Abstract: A device for determining interest includes a storage portion configured to store, on a user-by-user basis, a co-occurrence frequency in correlation with a user, the co-occurrence frequency indicating how many times a pair of words is used in a same cluster of a first document, on a pair-by-pair basis, to which the user gained access previously; a designating portion configured to allow a person who is to conduct a search to designate a second document and any one of the users; and a determination portion configured to determine that, among the pairs, a pair which is used in a same cluster of the designated second document and which also satisfies a predetermined condition of the co-occurrence frequency corresponding to the designated user is a particular pair in the second document which is probably of high interest to the designated user.

  • Publication number: 20160210101
Abstract: A document display support device includes a first processor configured to manage a shared document displayed in three or more terminals each of which has a display device; a memory configured to store at least information corresponding to a display region, of the shared document, displayed in each of the three or more terminals; and a first communication interface configured to perform communication with each of the three or more terminals. The first processor identifies a common region, the common region being common to, out of the three or more terminals, the display region in each of two or more terminals except one particular terminal. The first processor informs said one particular terminal of the common region or a predetermined point of the common region through the first communication interface.

  • Publication number: 20160182609
Abstract: A processing apparatus and plural terminals are connected by a communication network. On receiving local data from one of the terminals, a controller of the processing apparatus extracts properties of one or more objects from the local data, compares each property extracted from the local data with a common property and determines whether to keep or change the each property. If the extracted property is the same as the common property, the controller keeps the property as it is. Otherwise, the controller determines whether to keep the individual property which differs from the common property as it is or to change the individual property to the corresponding common property, in accordance with whether the individual property meets a predetermined criterion. Using the determined property, the controller writes each of the one or more objects of the local data into the common file, and stores the common file.

  • Publication number: 20160179289
Abstract: An object operation system includes a display section, an operation section and a controller. In response to recognizing a multi-touch gesture to touch a screen of the display section at three or more touch points simultaneously on the basis of information output from the operation section, the controller determines an operation target of the multi-touch gesture in accordance with whether or not a predetermined number of touch points among the three or more of touch points are located on one object or the area of an object group displayed on the screen, where the predetermined number is two or more. In response to a change in position of at least one of the predetermined number of touch points, the controller operates the operation target in accordance with the change.

  • Publication number: 20160078595
Abstract: An object operation system includes a display section which can display objects thereon, an operation section which allows a user to operate an object displayed on the display section, and a control section which controls the display section and the operation section. The control section calculates display sizes of a plurality of objects displayed on the display section as operation targets, calculates statistic information about the display sizes, and determines whether the statistic information meets a criterion defined in advance. On determining that the statistic information does not meet the criterion, the control section prevents a specific operation performed through the operation section on at least one of the plurality of objects.

  • Patent number: 8566366
Abstract: A portion identifying a file attribute identifies an attribute of an unconverted file (e.g., a name of an application used to create a document). A file format converter converts the file in a selected format. A portion adding a file attribute and writing it to a file provides the identified file attribute in the form of text and adds it to the file. After a file is converted in format, an original file attribute can still be referred to. A file attribute, such as an application used to create a document, can be used to sort and search for a file.

  • Patent number: 8446609
Abstract: An image formation apparatus obtains an amount of sheets remaining in its accommodation unit and from that amount determines whether a print job of interest can successfully be processed for printing. If so, then the print job of interest is processed for printing. If not, a print notification dialog box is output to provide notification that the print job cannot successfully be processed for printing and that it is necessary to resupply sheets required to process the print job for printing.
