  • Publication number: 20220375386
Abstract: The present disclosure relates to a method, a computer program comprising instructions and an apparatus for controlling the image reproduction of a display apparatus. The disclosure furthermore relates to a display apparatus in which a method according to the disclosure is realized. In a first step, the display apparatus is switched from a first operating mode with emission into a large field of view to a second operating mode with emission into a restricted field of view. Moreover, parameters are acquired which influence a contrast of the image reproduction that is perceivable by an observer situated outside the restricted field of view. A contrast for the image reproduction is adapted on the basis of the acquired parameters. Optionally, the image reproduction of the display apparatus can be interrupted if an impermissible head position of the observer is ascertained.

  • Patent number: 10304363
Abstract: In a test method, a screen in a vehicle is actuated in order to generate a specified raster image. An electric current intensity flowing as a result of the actuation is measured, and the measured current intensity is compared with a specified reference current intensity. It is ascertained whether the raster image was generated without errors dependent on the comparison.

  • Patent number: 7465064
Abstract: The invention relates to a light source (2) comprising at least one light module (13) and one control module (12) provided with a control electronics system. The invention also relates to an image-generating unit (1) for a head-up display provided with an inventive light source (2). Traditional solutions require too much construction space or cannot be mass-produced in order to obtain sufficient brightness. The aim of the invention is to combine a high degree of brightness, little construction space and mass-producibility, particularly for a head-up-display. According to the invention, the light module (13) and the control module (12) respectively comprise their own carrier element (14, 22)and are firmly connected to a common carrier (11).

  • Publication number: 20060017688
Abstract: An electro-optical display includes a graphics controller and an illuminating device for illuminating a display field of the electro-optical display. A plurality of sensors record actual operating data which are delivered to a control unit and compared with setpoint operating data. If the actual operating data deviate from the setpoint operating data, the control unit performs corrective action on the display. Corrective action is performed by regulating the drive current of the illuminating device, and changing the pulse-width modulation of the illuminating device, or by modifying color values in the graphics memory of the graphics controller of the electro-optical display.
