  • Publication number: 20040213720
Abstract: The invention relates to a method for removing ammoniacal components of a flue gas that has been treated according to the SNCR method, wherein the method is characterized in that the flue gas is contacted at a temperature, that is at least 150° C. below that at which the SNCR method is carried out, with a ferro-oxidic catalyst having a specific surface area of at least 0.2 m2/g, measured according to the BET method. Preferably, the catalyst is added to the flue gas at a temperature of 700-400° C. of the gas in the flue channel.

  • Patent number: 6101958
Abstract: A method of and an apparatus for the thermal degradation of refuse, garbage and other waste material in which the waste material stream is reacted with air or oxygen in a reaction chamber for pyrolysis, destructive distillation or incineration of the waste material. The released thermal energy, spatial temperature distribution or outlet gas temperature is measured and used to control a feeder which supplies particles of a supplemental fuel, itself recovered from a waste material separate from the waste material stream, to the reaction chamber.

  • Patent number: 5983811
Abstract: A roller grate arrangement for garbage-incinerating plants, in which a plurality of rollers with horizontal and parallel axes lie in an inclined plane. Primary air is fed to interiors of the rollers by air boxes located below the grate. The rollers have surfaces with air gaps for supplying the primary air, and the rollers are positioned to form a space between adjacent rollers. A component in the space between adjacent rollers, bridges the space between adjacent rollers. The component is free of air passages. Blast pipes are positioned in spaces between adjacent rollers and are connected to a separate system for feeding supplemental air.

Date of Patent: November 16, 1999
    Assignee: Deutsche Babcock Anlagen GmbH
Inventors: Kai Keldenich, Jurgen Scheffler, Peter Grell, Othmar Frielingsdorf, Colin Peter Robson
