The battery tray has a battery pan having a reinforcing structure which is arranged on the outside in front of a side wall of the battery pan. The reinforcement structure has a hollow profile with a first upper leg with a first opening and a second lower leg with a second opening. A sleeve extends between the vertically spaced legs and connects the openings in the legs. A fitting plate covers the first opening in the first leg, wherein the fitting plate has a passage through which the sleeve is guided with a sleeve section.
