  • Patent number: 9039991
Abstract: A biosensor is provided. The biosensor is used to sense a biological sample and has a code representing features of the biosensor. The biosensor includes a substrate and a conductive layer. The conductive layer is disposed on a first side of the substrate and includes a first conductive loop and a second conductive loop. The first conductive loop is formed between a first node and a second node and has a first impedance. The second conductive loop is formed between the second node and a third node and has a second impedance. The code is determined according to a comparison result between the second impedance and the first impedance.

  • Patent number: 8617490
Abstract: A reaction cassette for biochemical assay, a biochemical assay device including the reaction cassette, and a biochemical assay method performed by using the biochemical assay device are provided. The reaction cassette includes a first space, a second space, a third space, and an inner wall. The first space is configured to accommodate liquid and includes a first opening facing upward. The second space includes a second opening whose direction is perpendicular to the direction of the first opening. The first space and the second space are disposed such that when the reaction cassette is rotated, liquid in the first space can flow into the second space. The third space is located under the first space and includes a third opening whose direction is the same as the direction of the first opening. The inner wall connects the second opening and the third opening, which serves as a liquid flow channel between the second space and the third space.

  • Patent number: 8409424
Abstract: An electrochemical test strip, an electrochemical test system, and a measurement method using the same are provided. The electrochemical test strip includes an insulating substrate, an electrode system formed on the insulating substrate, and an insulating layer formed on the electrode system. The electrode system includes a set of measurement electrodes, a set of identifying electrodes, and a resistive path having a predetermined resistance value. The set of identifying electrodes is made of metal material, and the resistive path is made of non-metal material. The set of measurement electrodes includes a reference electrode and a working electrode insulated from each other, and the set of identifying electrodes includes a first identifying electrode and a second identifying electrode connected with each other through the resistive path.

  • Publication number: 20100252453
Abstract: A control solution for determining the performance of an electrochemical sensing system for measuring the concentration of an analyte in a body fluid sample and methods using the same are provided. The control solution contains the analyte at a predetermined amount and an alcohol-containing adjustor. The control solution generates a current signal from the electrochemical sensing system when the performance of the electrochemical sensing system is qualified and obtains a measured concentration corresponding to the current signal, wherein the measured concentration is less than the real concentration corresponding to the predetermined amount.

  • Publication number: 20050153277
Abstract: An immunochemical assay device is proposed. The immunochemical assay device includes a base member, a liquid-flowing layer disposed on the base member and a light-permissible member attached on the liquid-flowing layer. A gap is interposed between the light-permissible member and the liquid-flowing layer, wherein at least an immobilized substance is disposed on the surface of the light-permissible member facing the liquid-flowing layer. The immobilized substance binds to a specific ligand-receptor complex contained in a liquid sample to form an assay marker after the liquid sample has been added into the gap. The liquid sample flows in a microfluidic environment formed between the light-permissible member and the liquid-flowing layer and reacts with the immobilized substance to produce a colored assay marker on the light-permissible member. As the light-permissible member provides better transmission of light than previously known paper materials do, the assay marker can be easily detected by human eyes.
