  • Publication number: 20070205287
Abstract: An optical system used in a barcode scanner is disclosed to include a light source for emitting a dot-shaped light beam in a slanting angle, a standing cylindrical lens for expanding the dot-shaped light beam produced by the light source as a line-shaped light beam onto a barcode of a product in a slanting angle, which line-shaped light beam showing a light intensity distribution curve that is asymmetric between the left side and the right side, a linear sensor array, and a focusing lens for focusing a reflective image of the barcode onto the linear sensor array. A reflector means can be provided for overlapping the light path to reduce the size of the barcode scanner. Further, a shaking means may be used to cause reciprocation of the light beam in direction perpendicular to the light path of the light source, thereby eliminating image noises due to existence of black holes.

  • Patent number: 7077324
Abstract: The multi-line barcode scanner with no moving parts includes a light source, a light condensing lens and a linear light receiver. When scanning light beams (maybe linear or strip-shaped light beams) emitted from the light source are projecting onto a barcode, the reflected images thereof are focused onto the linear light receiver by the light condensing lens. The characteristics of the structure are that at least one beam splitter and reflectors are disposed at the projecting path from the light source converted into scanning light beam to the barcode, so as to enable the scanner to project two or more scanning light beams onto a same barcode in a non-overlapping manner, thereby selecting a complete barcode image for decoding at a fastest speed and for further increasing the barcode reading rate from the barcode at different angles or positions.

  • Patent number: 6981643
Abstract: A barcode scanner includes at least a laser emitter, a collimator, a light condensing lens and a linear light receiver. When the scanning light beams from the laser emitter are projected onto a barcode through the collimator, a barcode signal is produced from the reflected image thereof focused onto the linear light receiver through the light condensing lens. The characteristics thereof are that at least one beam splitter and reflector are disposed at the projecting path of the scanning light beams from the laser emitter and the collimator to barcode, so as to enable the scanner to act as a multiple light sources structure, thereby distributing the scanning light beams more evenly with lower production cost and material.

  • Publication number: 20040182933
Abstract: A light source structure of a laser barcode scanner includes a laser diode, a collimator, a standing cylindrical lens, a light condensing lens, and a linear sensor. The laser diode provides a laser light which passes through a collimator to form parallel point-shape laser beam. Then, the point-shape laser beam passes through the standing cylindrical lens to become a linear-shape laser beam perpendicular to the standing cylindrical lens. Thereafter, the linear-shape laser beam is projecting on a barcode and then the laser barcode image will be reflected back and focused to the linear sensor by the light condensing lens. The linear sensor will convert the reflected laser barcode image into electronic signals. Then, the electronic signals will be decoded by a decoder into numbers and/or characters represented by the barcode, thereby completing the scanning function of the whole laser barcode scanner.

  • Patent number: 6276606
Abstract: The present invention relates to a full range bar code scanner primarily comprising a scanner housing inside of which a light source, a lens set and a CCD-sensing device are mounted. The light source emits light to reflect upon a bar code in front thereof. Thereafter, the created reflection rays are focused after passing through the lens set so that the image of the bar code is formed on the CCD-sensing device and converted into digital data for use after being read by the CCD-sensing device and decoded by an electrical circuit. This improvement is characterized in that a spectroscope is mounted at the path of the reflection rays in front of the lens set. One side of the spectroscope opposite to the lens set is constructed as reflection face with reflection effect. At least one secondary reflector is installed near the spectroscope.
