  • Publication number: 20230293640
Abstract: The invention is based on the fibrin-derived peptides as therapeutic compounds for the treatment of inflammatory complications of virally caused diseases, such as a diffuse inflammation of the endothelium, also known as systemic endotheliitis or vasculitis and related disorders. The use of fibrin derived peptides and analogues of these compounds resulted in a surprisingly effective patient recovery.

  • Publication number: 20230241116
Abstract: The invention is based on the finding that a subjects suffering from a viral infection and which is distinguished by a systemic inflammatory complication such as systemic endotheliitis are in particular indicated for a treatment with mesenchymal stromal cell (MSC) compositions. The invention provides treatments in the context of SARS Cov2 infections, in severely affected subjects receiving mechanical ventilation. Provided are MSC compositions for use in treatments, diagnostic stratification methods, and diagnostic kits for such purposes.

  • Publication number: 20080249006
Abstract: The invention relates to the use of a peptide of general Formula I wherein R1 and R2, being equal or different, denote hydrogen, a saturated or unsaturated hydrocarbon moiety comprising from 1 to 10, in particular from 1 to 3, carbon atoms, Z1 denotes a histidine or proline moiety, Z2 denotes an arginine moiety, a peptide moiety or a protein moiety comprising an initial arginine moiety, in particular comprising from 2 to 30 amino acids, which peptide has the biological property of matching the inducible VE-cadherin binding motif on the B?-chain (i.e. B?15-42) of human fibrin, for the preparation of a pharmaceutical preparation for the treatment of shock.
