Kaisa Lehtinen has filed for patents to protect the following inventions. This listing includes patent applications that are pending as well as patents that have already been granted by the United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO).

  • Patent number: 9393824
Abstract: The invention relates to a method for manufacturing liquid- guiding structural layers by flexo or gravure printing on a substrate sheet, using a printing solution, which alters the properties of the substrate sheet in such a way that liquid flow is prevented in the area of the structural layers. The penetrability of the printing layer into the substrate sheet can be regulated by the printing-cylinder pressure and the composition of the printing solution. In the method it is possible to use printing solutions consisting of economical polymers and a solvent. In terms of printing technology, the invention is compatible with existing printing machines and is thus highly suitable for mass production.

  • Patent number: 8182580
Abstract: The invention relates to a novel gas filter structure, a filtering method and a method of producing the filter structure. The structure according to the invention includes a planar, porous isolation material layer (12) having two opposing surfaces. According to the invention both surfaces of the isolation material layer (12) include comprise a porous conductive layer (14, 16) including a porous filtering matrix treated with a conductive material. The conductive material consists of a material different from the support matrix. By use of the conductive layers it is possible to create in the isolation material an electric field that considerably improves the filtering efficiency of the isolation material, especially for small particles.
