  • Publication number: 20100311577
Abstract: A method for making a class of relatively stable porous carbon dioxide absorbents by mixing inert nanoparticles with a CaO precursor followed by high temperature calcination. In the preferred embodiments of this invention this process takes place in the essential absence of nitrates. In some embodiments of the invention the method further includes forming the inert nanoparticles-doped porous CaO material by decomposing a mixture of inert particles and CaO precursor material.

  • Patent number: 7824657
Abstract: A method for producing zeolite or zeotype crystals with a hierarchical pore system having both pores with average diameter between 0.3-2 nm and pores with an average diameter size larger than 4 nm in diameter, comprising the steps of applying a carbohydrate or a carbohydrate solution onto a zeolite precursor material or into a zeolite precursor composition, partly or fully decomposing the carbohydrate, crystallizing the zeolite, removing the partly or fully decomposed carbohydrate by calcination or combustion.

  • Patent number: 7608238
Abstract: Periclase MgO having a nanosheet structure. The distance of the lattice planes in HRTEM is ?0.24 nm-0.25 nm. Method of preparing periclase MgO having a nanosheet structure including preparation of Mg(OCH3)2 in methanol solution. 4-methoxy benzy alcohol (MBZ) or 4-nitro benzyl alcohol (NBZ) or a mixture thereof is added in a ration of Mg to MBZ and/or NBZ of at least 1. Water/methanol mixture is added to the system. Solvent removal and calcinations in air is performed of the mixture.

  • Patent number: 7417008
Abstract: The invention relates to supported polyoxometalates represented by the formula (An)m+ [M4(H2O)10(XW9O33)2]m? or solvates thereof, wherein A represents a cation, n is the number of cations, m is the charge of the polyoxoanion, M is a transition metal, and X is an element selected from the group consisting of As, Sb, Bi, Se and Te, characterized in that the polyoxometalate is supported on a solid support selected from the group consisting of Al2O3, MgO, TiO2, ZrO2, SiO2, mesoporous silica, active carbon, diatomite, clays, zeolites, polyoxometalate salts and mixtures thereof, with the proviso that the polyoxometalate salt supports are different from the supported polyoxometalates defined by the above formula, a process for their preparation and their use for the catalytic oxidation of organic molecules.
