Abstract: The present invention relates to a solar energy collector which includes a housing which has two solar absorption panels on the exterior surface thereof and an energy collection chamber therein. A motor is coupled to the housing for moving the solar absorption panels between a first position, characterized as being illuminated with solar radiaton, and a second position, characterized as being in thermal communication with a heat transfer fluid contained within the energy collection chamber of the housing. A heat transfer device is immersed in the primary fluid within the energy collection chamber for removing thermal energy therefrom. A control system is coupled to the motor for moving the solar absorption panels between the first and second positions in a transient unsteady mode.

Abstract: System using solar energy to heat a fluid in a heat storage tank can be utilized in either a heating mode or cooling mode. In the heating mode, several valves are actuated to cause fluid contained in an internal heat exchanger in the heat storage tank to circulate in series circuit with external heat exchange means in communication with the space to be heated. In the cooling mode, the valves are operated to cause the heated fluid in the internal heat exchanger mounted in the heat storage tank to circulate to a heat exchanger mounted in a refrigerant boiler. As the refrigerant boils, vapors are formed which pass through an ejector. The expanded refrigerant vapors are then condensed to liquid in a fan cooled condenser and a portion of the liquid is returned to the refrigerant boiler by a refrigerant circulating pump.

Abstract: Solar energy collection device uses a motor driven moving endless belt absorber member which is mounted in a glass covered collector housing so as to present a flat plate configuration to the solar rays. The moving belt progressively increases in temperature as it passes through the housing, and is guided, after it is heated, to a heat transfer chamber outside the main collector housing where its heat can be transferred to a suitable heat transfer fluid.
