  • Patent number: 10887283
Abstract: One or more embodiments provide techniques for executing a workflow in a private data center. The cloud data center receives a request from a user. The cloud data center publishes an event to an event queue in the cloud data center. An event handler in the private data center accesses the event queue. The event handler executes the workflow in response to the event in the private data center. The event handler publishes the results of the workflow in the cloud data center.

  • Patent number: 10877797
Abstract: One or more embodiments provide techniques for executing a workflow in a private data center. The cloud data center receives a request from a user. The cloud data center notifies the private data center that the request necessitates execution of the workflow in the private data center. A handler in the private data center maps a component of the cloud data center to the request. The handler determines whether a pairing exists between the component in the cloud data center and a component of the private data center. Upon determining that the pairing exists, the handler executes the workflow in the private data center. The handler publishes the results of the workflow to the cloud data center.

  • Patent number: 10057377
Abstract: The present application is directed to methods and systems that provide for identification of a server, within a distributed computing environment, through which an object can be accessed. The object is associated with metadata that identifies a server currently responsible for providing access to the object. By these methods and system, a request to access an object can be directed to an appropriate server, without first accessing a centralized dispatching node and without access to detailed mappings of access-type/object pairs to servers in a distributed computing environment.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: June 29, 2012
Date of Patent: August 21, 2018
    Assignee: VMware, Inc.
