  • Patent number: 9178537
Abstract: An apparatus for controlling at least one radio module, wherein the apparatus is configured to generate at least one service request for a first radio mode, determine at least one logical architecture model dependent on each service request, select at least one of the plurality of radio modules to form a physical architecture structure dependent on each logical architecture model, and generate at least one configuration data set dependent on the selected one of the plurality of radio modules.

  • Patent number: 8612595
Abstract: A system for making resources in an apparatus available to an entity outside of the apparatus. In at least one example operational scenario, an apparatus may wirelessly interact with other apparatuses via various communication protocols. These apparatuses may be part of an architecture that allows resources to be shared within the architecture. An “entity” may further exist in the architecture that controls how resources are borrowed from, or how resources are provided to, the individual participating apparatuses. Access to apparatus resources may be provided through reallocation of reconfigurable components to a control element within the apparatus, the control element corresponding to the entity existing outside of the apparatus.

Date of Patent: December 17, 2013
    Assignee: Nokia Corporation

  • Publication number: 20080293445
Abstract: A radio frequency apparatus comprising an interface configured to receive a command from a radio protocol stack. A command generator configured to generate a plurality of commands from said received command is provided. The apparatus also has configurable hardware, said hardware having a configuration which is controlled in dependence on said generated commands and being arranged to at least one of transmit and receive a radio frequency signal.

  • Publication number: 20080242347
Abstract: An apparatus, computer program product and method concern first and at least second radios adapted to operate according to respective first and second wireless radio systems, and which share hardware. While the first radio is inactive, first hardware configuration data HCD for the first radio is written to a first configuration register set. While the second radio is inactive, second HCD for the second radio is written to a second configuration register set. The first radio is switched to active by selecting the first configuration register and configuring at least the shared hardware according to the first HCD of the first configuration register set. The second radio is switched to active and the first radio is switched to inactive by selecting the second configuration register set and configuring at least the shared hardware according to the second HCD of the second configuration register set. For a tangible result, the respective radios transmit via according to the respective wireless radio systems.

  • Publication number: 20080081629
Abstract: The invention relates to a mobile terminal, for instance. The terminal includes a processing unit for receiving operations relating to at least two communication processes of different radio communication systems, wherein each communication process includes a critical operation and one or more pre-requisite operations, and wherein a scheduling window defining a time window within which an operation is to be scheduled is defined for each operation. There is provided a shared medium for handling operations relating to the communication processes and a scheduler for scheduling the operations to the shared medium, the scheduler scheduling the operations such that the pre-requisite operations precede the critical operation of that communication process, and each pre-requisite operation is scheduled to its scheduling window.
