  • Patent number: 4852758
Abstract: A plastic fuel tank comprises a large main tank (1) and a small collecting tank connected to the main tank (1) by a flow-through opening (7). The collecting tank (3) is completely pulled into the underside (11) of the main tank (1), and includes vaulted lateral walls (31) which are symmetrical in all directions and expand into a bottom part (32) with an enlarged surface. The collecting tank (3) is partly surrounded by a connecting channel (8) opening from the main tank (1). The connecting channel (8) communicates with the collecting tank (3) via an admission bore (10). A nozzle (12) from the fuel return line (6) opens into the connecting channel (8) at a point opposite admission bore (10) to help propel fuel from the connecting channel (8) into the collecting tank (3).

  • Patent number: 4086314
Abstract: Plastic containers, especially of large volume, for the storage, dispensing and transportation of liquids such as milk are formed by blow-molding unitarily with handgrips and recesses permitting the engagement thereof. According to the disclosure, a parison is extruded into a blow mold and before the blow mold is closed on the parison, a lower portion thereof is distended outwardly with the outwardly expanded or distended portions being gripped by members which draw these portions laterally outwardly into auxiliary molding devices designed to shape these portions into the handgrips upon closure of the mold and the blowing of the parison to conform to the contours thereof. Thus, the grip portions are formed from extra material extruded from the extrusion head forming the parison.

  • Patent number: 3954369
Abstract: A closed liquid container of thermoplastic synthetic-resin material is fod by blowing and comprises at least one construction element disposed within the container and secured to the wall thereof for dividing the inner space of the container into sections. The apparatus for the production of the container comprises a form tool, and a driving means moving the form tool into an open and closed position, respectively. A tube-forming head of an extruder is disposed on top of the form tool and at least one holding mandrel is movable in axial direction. The mandrel has at least one receiving element for a construction element and is disposed end-sided to the form tool in the head of the extruder.

  • Patent number: 3938687
Abstract: Two symmetrical, axially separable barrel halves of plastic material are provided at their confronting end faces with peripheral edge beads each forming a set of axially projecting teeth alternating with gaps of like width, the teeth of each half fitting into the gaps of the other. The free ends of the teeth are provided with radially extending bosses forming two annular crenelations separated by a substantially flat ring zone upon the interfitting of the teeth, this zone receiving a broad strap inserted between the two crenelations to hold the barrel halves together. The peripheral edge beads are further provided, radially inwardly of the teeth and gaps, with axially extending tenons and mortises or equivalent tongue-and-groove formations to provide a supplemental bracing effect. The inner strap surface may be correspondingly beveled to exert upon the free tooth ends an elastic biasing force urging the two barrel halves toward each other in the axial direction.
