  • Publication number: 20090284017
Abstract: Hydro-generator unit submerged in water comprised of a combination of converter transforming the hydraulic energy into mechanical power, drive train transmitting the mechanical power to generator that converts the mechanical power into electricity or into energy-bearing media, and auxiliary equipment serving control and measurement purpose contained in water tight bulb housing completely filled with incompressible fluid. Expansion tank accepting volume variation of incompressible fluid and device containing elastic membrane separating the internal uncompressible fluid from the surrounding water stabilizes the pressure inside the bulb housing.

  • Patent number: 6104097
Abstract: Hydro-turbine driven electrical generating unit, contained in a water tight bulb housing and submerged in a water current, is comprised of a combination of turbine runner, turbine shaft, turbine shaft seal, bearings, speed-increasing transmission, generator, and couplings, and a central terminal block for the connection of power, measuring and control cables and tubes. The electric energy generating unit is an alternating current generator which supplies the alternating current to an electric converter which transforms the the alternating current into direct current and the direct current is used in an electrolyze device producing Hydrogen and Oxygen.

  • Patent number: 5798572
Abstract: Hydro-turbine driven electrical generating unit, contained in a water tight bulb housing and submerged in a water current, is comprised of a rigid frame supporting a rotating system, consisting of a combination of turbine runner, turbine shaft, turbine shaft seal, bearings, speed-increasing transmission, generator, and couplings, and a central terminal block for the connection of power, measuring and control cables and tubes. The generating unit can be tested, adjusted and maintained outside of the bulb housing and the generating unit can be lifted and installed into or removed from the bulb housing. The bulb housing contains small side wall openings corresponding with the connection points between the generating unit and the bulb housing.

  • Patent number: 4840538
Abstract: A device for cooling the salient-type rotor of electrical machines in which interpolar bodies are placed between and parallel to the salient poles of a rotor creating narrow channels between the salient poles and the interpolar bodies, to effectively cool the salient poles by the cooling air blowing radially through the channels between the interpolar body and the salient poles, and the interpolar bodies having circumferentially extending top surface close to the internal surface of stator creating a circumferential channel between the interpolar body and the internal surface of stator, bridging the gap between the salient poles to reduce turbulences and energy losses created by the rotation of the rotor.

  • Patent number: 4673835
Abstract: A stator core for an electrical machine has laminations with a wave-shaped surface. The waves in the stator laminations in the cold core causes the tangential heat expansion of the core to be distributed over a number of the waves which increases each wave height only slightly. This prevents the system from reaching a stability limit or permanent deformation.

  • Patent number: 4593223
Abstract: A stator yoke is provided for a bulb generator or motor. The stator yoke includes a cylindrical wrapping plate with flanges connected to the ends of the wrapping plate. Yoke plates are connected to the core. Axial ribs extend through openings in the yoke plates and interconnect the wrapping plate, the yoke plates and the flanges. The flanges, yoke plate and axial ribs combine to increase the stiffness of the wrapping plate which increases the ability of the yoke to resist deformation caused by static and dynamic forces.
