  • Patent number: 6615791
Abstract: The present invention relates to a modular internal combustion engine assembly that includes a closed-dome cylinder liner having solenoid actuated intake and exhaust valves supported within the dome portion of the cylinder liner. The engine assembly also includes a crankshaft having a series of discs joined together in a spaced parallel relationship by a plurality of crankpins, that is supported at the lower end of the cylinder block by bushings adapted to receive the crankshaft, such that the crankshaft rotates within the bushings in response to piston power strokes.

  • Patent number: 6415694
Abstract: A method of manufacturing precision machined thin sleeves, as for engine cylinder liners in which the outside diameter of a thick walled tubular preform is first machined to a finish size, and the preform chucked in an encircling jaw chuck on the preform outside diameter. The inside diameter is machined to a finish size having a desired wall thickness. The encircling surfaces of the chuck jaws creates a slightly undersized circle to clamp the preform to a predetermined degree.

  • Patent number: 4831741
Abstract: Present invention is a manufacturing gauging system for statistical process control including a gauging fixture for holding a manufacturing part in a fixed location and orientation and for positioning a transducer probe in a predetermined relationship to a manufactured dimension of the part, a non-volatile memory for storing a set of tolerance dimensions relative to the manufactured dimensions of the part and a data processing system which receives sequential signals from the transducer probe relating to measurements of manufacturing dimensions of the part and stores them in the non-volatile memory. The gauging fixture includes a plurality of zero-based measurement stations. Each zero-based measurement station enables positioning of a transducer probe in a predetermined location and orientation relative to the part for providing a reference to a specified measure of the manufactured dimension of the part.
