Abstract: It is provided a process for producing lactosucrose from a source of lactose such as whey permeate and a source of sucrose as well as a source of both lactose/sucrose such as chocolate milk to enzymatically generating in situ lactosucrose, and fructosylate phenolic compounds contained therein, the process comprising contacting the dairy starting material (containing sucrose) with a levansucrase (LS), which can be immobilized on a solid support, selected from Bacillus amyloliquefaciens (ATCC 23350), Gluconobacter oxydans (strain 621H) (LS1), Vibrio natriegens NBRC 15636 (LS2), Novosphingobium aromaticivorans (LS3), and Burkholderia graminis C4D1M (LS4), or a combination thereof.

Abstract: A method and apparatus to perform a software migration. According to one embodiment of the invention, end-user specific platform information is collected to be used by a set of one or more migration scripts to perform the software migration. The migration scripts are to be executed on an end-user server and generate log files to be used to restart the software migration if an error occurs during the software migration.

Abstract: A system for prescreening and reviewing cytological specimens includes an imager for obtaining and processing image data of a specimen slide, which identifies cellular objects of interest in the specimen, calculates object values for the identified objects based on one or more of their respective physical attributes, and selects fields of view of the specimen slide for subsequent review on a review scope, based on the locations of identified objects having object values of greatest relative interest. One or more of the objects may be further selected by the imager for emphasized review, which may include additional presentation for review (whether automatic or conditioned) of the one or more objects, whether in the same or in a different field of view than when the object(s) were originally presented. Emphasized review of selected objects may also or additionally be provided by highlighting or otherwise visually emphasizing the objects when they are presented for viewing on the review scope.

Abstract: A horticultural irrigation system comprising a plant growth container. The plant growth container comprises a receptacle for a plant growth medium, a reservoir, a container inlet, a float valve and an outlet means. The container inlet supplies water to the reservoir. The float valve is adapted to close the container inlet when the water in the reservoir reaches a pre-determined level. An outlet means allows the passage of water from the reservoir to the receptacle.

Abstract: One automated imaging process, as described herein, includes: a) obtaining digital images of objects in a biological sample; b) selecting a plurality of objects of interest from the digital images; c) obtaining multiple images of the selected objects of interest at a plurality of different wavelengths; d) combining one of said multiple images with a corresponding digital image to produce a combined image; and e) analyzing the combined image in order to characterize the biological sample.

Abstract: A method and system for reducing fault analysis times in a network having a plurality of pollable objects. Poll responses are received from pollable objects, priorities are assigned to each received poll response in accordance with one or more of a received poll response value, a pollable object status and a type of pollable object, and the assigned priorities are processed and to determine any fault locations, wherein a pollable object with a higher priority is processed before a second pollable object with a lower priority. A status manager is operable to receive poll responses from one or more of the pollable objects, a status analyzer is operable to assign, in conjunction with one or more analyzers, priorities to each received poll response in accordance with the received poll response value, a pollable object status and a type of pollable object, and analyzers coupled the status analyzer use the assigned priorities and the corresponding received poll responses to determine a fault location.

One or more of the group of network elements, functionally coupled to provide a service, and a plurality of sub elements of the group of network elements are polled. The list is analyzed to perform one or more of setting a status for the group of network elements and reporting fault indications. Abstract: Disclosed is an automatic digital image enhancement method, including: determining the defects existing in the image based on pixel values, such as pixel luminance values and pixel color values, of the input digital image, and making corrections based on the determination results. The method can process images of digital photos, digital videos and make enhancement on exposure and color of the images. The method disclosed can also improve quickly and apparently the visual quality and appearance of images.

Abstract: A pixel row interlacing method and system, and print head for practicing same, for use with dot-matrix ink jet printers which apply ink to a substrate as elevated temperatures (e.g., phase change ink jet printers), which assures environmentally symmetric ordered placement of molten ink droplets and, thereby, achieves seamless dot-matrix printing and minimizes the horizontal striping or "banding" effects which are prevalent in prior art printers. Odd rows of print region are printed in one pass and the even rows of the same region are printed in the following pass. The guidelines for laying down dots are essentially: (1) adjacent dot rows should not be laid down in the same pass; (2) each dot row should be sandwiched by either (a) virgin paper on both sides of the dot row, or (b) ink on both sides of the dot row; (3) the first and the last dot row in each solid pattern are exempted from guidelines #2 and #3.
