  • Publication number: 20050097669
Abstract: A foot spa and a method for controlling the foot spa is provided. The foot spa has a housing defining a reservoir for retaining a volume of fluid, and a lid selectively covering a portion of the reservoir. The foot spa can have any combination of a remote control unit for generating a signal for controlling a plurality of functions of the foot spa, a receiver for receiving the control signal, a retractable cord, an infrared heater, an in-line fluid heater, adjustable fluid jets, a spinning massage attachment function, and a control assembly operable by the foot of the user.

  • Publication number: 20050076931
Abstract: There is provided a hair accessory application device essentially having at least two housing or body portions, a first body or ergonomic handle portion suitable for handling by an operator and for accommodating at least a portion of a drive assembly and a second body or head portion suitable for accommodating at least a portion of a threading assembly. The threading assembly is operatively connected to the drive assembly and suitable to allow an operator to effectively and efficiently apply or thread one or more hair accessories over one or more strands of hair as desired.

  • Publication number: 20050050737
Abstract: A delivery system for a hair-coloring and streaking device by combining, in a single hand held appliance, a motor driven piston and a modular liquid colorant container, in combination with an efficient spring-loaded clip and comb. The invention features a carefully controlled interface between the hair and the liquid delivery system and a feature that reverses the motor automatically when the device is shut off in order to empty the manifold back into the reservoir and to prevent subsequent leakage of fluid. In addition the invention includes a modular dye package employing an accordion pleated bottle that allows reliable pressurizing with a simple motor driven piston.

  • Publication number: 20050013055
Abstract: A method for mounting a head stack assembly (HSA) circuit assembly is disclosed. A flexible circuit substrate may be coupled to a stiffener. The stiffener may be a metal, such as aluminum, or some other stiff and durable material. The flexible circuit substrate may be made of an organic material and may have a series of electronic leads embedded in the flexible circuit substrate. The flexible substrate may be coupled to the stiffener by an adhesive or laminated onto the stiffener. The stiffener may be mounted onto the actuator arm by soldering or by laser welding.

  • Patent number: 5991112
Abstract: A servotrack writing apparatus (10) for use on computer disk drive workpieces (12). A writer controller (58) puts the writing apparatus (10) in the role of master to direct the workpiece (12) as a slave to position its read-write head (36) and to write the servotracks. A tracking section (54) provides a modulated light beam (72) from which a reflected portion is detected by a bi-cell photo sensor (70) and processed in the writer controller (58) to determine the position of a thru-hole (40) or a detection region (42) in the actuator arm (24) of the workpiece (12). The writer controller (58) may use a lock-in amplifier (102, 104) for the processing the reflected portion of the light beam (72). A reference arm (44) is locked and moved in a synchronous relationship with the actuator arm (24).
