  • Publication number: 20210190435
Abstract: If a cracked gas heat exchanger becomes damaged water may enter the transfer line causing it to rupture. This may be avoided using a heat exchanger having heat pipes to conduct heat from the cracked gas to a cooling device, typically a water cooler to generate steam. The latter (cooling device) is physical separated from the hot cracked gas stream. The heat pipes may be modified at the hot or cold end with fins, ribs, protuberances, pins and the like.

  • Patent number: 9115667
Abstract: In one embodiment of the invention, the noise of a supersonic jet of gas venting from a lower stack having a flow control means may be reduced by at least about 20 dBA by attaching an upper stack to the lower stack, said upper stack being packed with granulae to provide a bed height at least one diameter of the upper stack the cross section area of the interstitial voids between the granulae being at least about 2.25 times larger than the cross section area of the flow controlling means installed in the lower stack. The said bed is contained in the upper stack and kept in place by suitable upper and lower retainers such as, for example, a mesh or a perforated plate.

  • Patent number: 8100671
Abstract: Low pressure off gases such as from dry gas seals may be recompressed to a higher pressure using multiple tandem supersonic ejectors in which upstream ejectors operate at a higher nozzle exit Mach number than down stream ejectors and all ejectors are operated at exit Mach numbers greater than 1.
