  • Publication number: 20230046857
Abstract: A system and method for measuring a parameter in a gaseous sample is disclosed herein. A signal generator generates a first signal. The first signal is sent through the gaseous sample, enclosed in an airtight chamber, via a transmitter and received via a receiver. The signal is then processed to measure the delay in transmission along a predetermined distance. The delay in the transmission of the signal from the transmitter to the receiver through the sample along a predetermined distance gas gives a measure of the parameter being measured within the gaseous sample. Examples of parameters that can be measured include humidity, temperature, air quality, pressure, and a quantity of a specific contaminant.

  • Patent number: 9676926
Abstract: PET nanocomposite materials exhibit improved physical properties in a PET composite as a result of the intercalation of non smectite-type clay materials while maintaining transparency and barrier properties. In some aspects, kaolin particles are modified with potassium acetate (KAc) to increase interlamellar distances and improve particle dispersion. In other aspects, calcined kaolin particles are used and may be chemically treated by an aqueous alcohol solutions method. Any loss in the molecular weight of PET composite can be offset by the further incorporation of surface compatibilizers such as silane coupling agents and other process additives such as molecular chain extenders.

  • Patent number: 9389129
Abstract: An embodiment of the present invention is an algorithmic method for testing performance characteristics of humidity and temperature probes, i.e., accuracy, stability, and repeatability of humidity and temperature sensor probes over a user selected dynamic range, which is programmable by an end user. Further, the testing is accomplished and completed by using a specially designed humidity and temperature test chamber that is traceable to NIST (National Institute of Science and Technology). Ongoing, and final, testing results are made visible for study by the end user via a computer display, and there is printout availability. Further, testing in the chamber utilizes a method for probe attachment to the chamber and control thereof.

  • Patent number: 8890701
Abstract: A toxic gas detector including ductwork, an enclosure, and a toxic gas sensor. The ductwork communicates with a heating source of a forced hot air heating system. The enclosure is attached directly to, and communicates with, the ductwork, and is disposed directly adjacent to the heating source. The toxic gas sensor is disposed in the enclosure, communicates with the ductwork, and is disposed directly adjacent to the heating source so as to allow the toxic gas sensor to detect a toxic gas at the heating source before the toxic gas has a chance to be distributed through the ductwork and infiltrate all outlets of the ductwork, and when the toxic gas sensor detects the toxic gas at the heating source, the toxic gas detector automatically shuts down the heating source.

  • Patent number: 8858113
Abstract: A tire deflation device includes a support rod disposed longitudinally within a housing, a plurality of T-shaped positioners spaced along the length of the support rod, a pair of spikes attached to each of the T-shaped positioners, each spike of the pair arranged in an opposite direction to the other, and a plurality of filler portions disposed between each of the pair of spikes. The housing includes a main housing portion, a first end portion and a second end portion. The main housing portion has three lateral sides. The positioners position the pairs of the spikes such that for every three pairs of the spikes, the first is arranged substantially parallel to the first lateral side, the second is arranged substantially parallel to the second lateral side, and the third is arranged substantially parallel to the third lateral side, wherein the pairs of spikes are spaced apart.

  • Publication number: 20130063270
Abstract: This present invention is that of an accurate and immediate methodology of carbon monoxide detection is accomplished by utilizing an inserted modified venturi that samples air flow exiting in the immediate vicinity of a heater source's duct system. This is completely functional in any type of heating system incorporating a duct system for forced hot air transfer throughout a circuitous closed environment. Further, upon detection of any carbon monoxide in said heating system, at the immediate source of heated air exiting, an annunciation alarm and heating system “shut down” or “fail-safe” mode will be instituted in effect. All monitoring will be under constant control by algorithms within a microcontroller circuit.
