Publication number: 20170323441Abstract: The present technology relates generally to devices, systems, and methods for detecting an analyte from a microfluidic assay. In some embodiments, a method for detecting the analyte includes binding an analyte and a plurality of quantum dots to a detection region of a porous membrane of a microfluidic device. The method further includes emitting ultraviolet (“UV”) light from a light source towards the microfluidic device and simultaneously capturing RGB image data of the microfluidic device with an image sensor of a portable computing device without an optical filter. The method further includes quantifying the amount of analyte present on the porous membrane based on the image data.Type: ApplicationFiled: May 8, 2017Publication date: November 9, 2017Inventors: Kamal Shah, Koji Abe, Peter C. Kauffman

Patent number: 8533326Abstract: A system and method for managing, routing and controlling devices and inter-device connections located within an environment to manage and control the environment using a control client is presented. A user provides commands via the control client to a server that maintains a representation of the environment and the devices within the environment. The server provides commands to devices present within the environment in response to user commands and other events, including events from the environment. The commands cause the devices in the environment to adopt specific desired states thereby causing the environment and the devices within the environment to create desired connections by and between the devices and to otherwise control and effect the environment.Type: GrantFiled: May 3, 2007Date of Patent: September 10, 2013Assignee: CLoud Systems Inc.Inventors: Gordon Saint Clair, Frederick M. Johnson, Amy M. Badore, Charles Rotter, Kamal Shah

Patent number: 8499581Abstract: A method and apparatus for conditioning imported liquefied natural gas to conform to a particular pipeline heating value specification and recovery of liquefied petroleum gas or natural gas liquids from liquefied natural gas are disclosed. An input stream containing liquefied natural gas is split into a direct stream and a bypass stream. The direct stream is heated in a cross-exchanger to produce a heated rich liquefied natural gas stream, which is split into a primary column feed and a secondary column feed. At least a major portion of the secondary column feed is vaporized to produce a vaporized secondary column feed, which is expanded in an expander to produce a vaporized and expanded secondary column feed. A top feed, the primary column feed, and the vaporized and expanded secondary column feed are fractionated to produce an overhead product stream and a bottom product stream. The overhead product stream is compressed in a compressor coupled to the expander.Type: GrantFiled: October 5, 2007Date of Patent: August 6, 2013Assignee: IHI E&C International CorporationInventors: Kamal Shah, Girish Joshi
