  • Publication number: 20230305132
Abstract: In described examples, a frequency modulated continuous wave (FMCW) radar system includes an FMCW signal generator, a number N transmitters, N phase shifters, multiple receivers, and a processor. The FMCW signal generator is configured to generate FMCW chirps. Different ones of the phase shifters have different respective base phase shifts selected in response to N. The transmitter is configured to transmit the phase shifted FMCW chirps. The receivers are configured to receive an FMCW chirp reflected by an object in range of the FMCW radar system. The processor is configured to determine a location of the object in range in response to the received FMCW chirp.

  • Publication number: 20220120884
Abstract: A system includes a memory configured to store a two-dimensional data structure that includes radar data arranged such that radar data of a first transmitter is separated from radar data of a second transmitter by a Doppler offset in the two-dimensional data structure. The system also includes a data fetch mechanism that includes a lookup table (LUT) applied on either of two dimensions. The lookup table is configured to store a data fetch location in the two-dimensional data structure, where the data fetch location indicates a location from which to fetch a subset of the radar data from the two-dimensional data structure and the data fetch mechanism is configured to fetch the subset of the radar data from the two-dimensional data structure based on the LUT. The system includes a processor configured to perform a fast Fourier transform (FFT) on the fetched subset of the radar data.

  • Publication number: 20110282625
Abstract: A time interval measuring system is disclosed. In one embodiment, the time interval measuring system includes a plurality of time interval analyzers, each having a resolution that differs from a resolution of at least one other time interval analyzer in the plurality of time interval analyzers. The plurality of time interval analyzers are configured to receive a first event signal representing a first event, receive a second event signal representing a second event, and generate digital first estimates representing a time difference between the first event and the second event. The time interval measuring system further includes a post-processing unit configured to receive the digital first estimates and combine the digital first estimates according to at least one algorithm to generate a digital second estimate representing the time difference between the first event and the second event having higher precision than each of the digital first estimates.
