  • Patent number: 11962097
Abstract: A method, apparatus and computer program product are provided to select a plurality of antenna elements of an antenna array, such as to match the angular spread of the antenna array to a deployment scenario, thereby increasing the effective beamforming gain. In the context of a method, a plurality of antenna elements of an active antenna array are selected by separately selecting first, second and third pluralities of antenna elements and obtaining measures of first, second and third signals based upon transmission or reception of signals by the first, second and third pluralities of antenna elements, respectively The method additionally includes processing the measures of the first, second and third signals and determining a sub-army of antenna elements of the active antenna array to be utilized based on the processing of the measures of the first, second and third signals.

  • Publication number: 20240015684
Abstract: Systems, methods, apparatuses, and computer program products for providing cell configuration parameters in a secure manner are provided. A method may include providing, from a network node, cell configuration or other cell sensitive data to the internal memory of an authorized user equipment. For example, the providing may include providing the cell configuration or other cell sensitive data to the memory of the authorized user equipment as coded cell configuration package (CCCP) tracking area update (TAU) data during the configuration of the authorized user equipment or while the authorized user equipment is in radio resource control (RRC) connected state with the network node.

  • Publication number: 20230328529
Abstract: A true TA is determined by a BS for a UE. The BS codes the true TA to a coded TA and sends the coded TA to the UE. The UE receives the coded TA from the BS and determines, based on the coded TA, a true TA for the UE to use for communications with the BS. A source BS, in response to a handover of a UE from the source BS to a target BS, determines an offset to be used to determine a value of a true TA between the UE and the target BS. The source BS sends the offset toward the UE and the target BS during a handover process for the handover. The UE receives the offset and a coded TA from the target BS and determines the true TA by adjusting the received coded TA with the received offset.

  • Patent number: 10880017
Abstract: There are provided a method, comprising monitoring if a predefined reference signal is decoded from a received signal, wherein the received signal is received at a predetermined resource element defined by a symbol time and a frequency range; informing a control device on receipt of an interfering pulsed signal if the reference signal is not decoded from the received signal; and a method, comprising monitoring if a total received power on a frequency range oscillates in time during RSRP cannot be calculated in a time period, wherein the frequency range and the time period are allocated to exclusively receiving reference signals; informing a control device on receipt of an interfering pulsed signal if the total received power oscillates in time.

  • Patent number: 9801130
Abstract: Various communication systems may benefit from insight regarding when a device is performing power saving operations. For example, wireless communication systems may benefit from secondary cell state activation and deactivation of measurement gaps. A method can include determining, by a user equipment, whether a secondary cell is in an activated state or an inactivated state. The method can also include selectively enabling or disabling measurement gaps for the user equipment based on the determined state of the secondary cell.
