At least one pin (20) pointing outward from the wall of the housing (10) is arranged on the housing (10) of the lighting device (100) in a wall area (30) directed toward the surgical instrument in the fastening position, which pin has a light emitting opening (40) at the distal end of the pin and is designed for passing through an opening (220) of the surgical instrument or of the adapter (90; 91) and thus establishing a form-closed or force-closed connection to the opening. The pin (20) is preferably movable in order to achieve optimal illumination of the operation site.
