    Abstract: A method of manufacturing a tracheal tube assembly including a cannula having a tapered distal tip is provided. The method includes providing a cannula having a distal end and inserting the distal end into a tapered melt mold. The method also includes applying heat to the tapered melt mold and the inserted distal end to form the tapered distal tip. The tapered distal tip may taper towards a distal end of the distal tip.
