Abstract: A method for facilitating in assessing transitional costs in business transformations using a computer-aided organizational design system is provided. The method comprises creating a first organization design model representative of the current organizational design state of an organization using a graphical tool. The method further comprises changing the first organization design model into a second organization design model representative of the organizational design state of the organization after the business transformation. The method further comprises generating a report identifying the transition cost factors and the transition cost of moving from the first organization design model to the second organization design model, wherein the transition cost is determined based on predetermined calculation algorithms or heuristics.

Abstract: The illustrative embodiments provide a method, system and computer program product for automatically capturing metadata using a template model. The template model is assembled for automatically capturing metadata during one or more stages of the life cycle of an application. Included in the template model are a description and a source of the metadata during a particular stage of the application lifecycle. The template model further includes multiple fields for dynamically capturing metadata. The template model fields may include: a stage field, an item field, a type field, specific source field, indicative field, a source list field, an analyzer reference field, default value field, and default reason field. A unique label associated with the stage field, of the template model, is read to identify the current stage of the lifecycle. The metadata associated with the current stage is automatically captured, then communicated to the application.

Abstract: A computer implemented method for managing IM presence based on task context, comprising storing group affiliations for a requesting IM user and a target IM user. A request from the requesting IM user is received for the target IM user's status. The requesting IM user's group affiliation is determined. The target IM user's status relationship associated with the requesting IM user's group affiliation is determined. The status relationship for the target IM user is returned to the requesting IM user. Communication from the requesting IM user is forwarded to a predefined reroute destination if the target IM user has defined the reroute destination for communication originating from the requesting IM user's group affiliation.
