    Abstract: Snatch roller fairlead assemblies for guiding cables and associated systems and methods are disclosed herein. In some embodiments, a snatch roller fairlead assembly includes a fairlead frame and a roller set including one or more rollers rotatably coupled to the fairlead frame. The rollers are configured to contact the cable from various directions and restrict the cable to a primarily bidirectional movement. The rollers can be coated with wear-resistant material to reduce wear on the rollers and the cable. The snatch roller fairlead assembly can be mounted to a structure via additional components attached to the fairlead frame that allow one or more degrees of freedom. In some embodiments, the snatch roller fairlead assembly can be mounted on a mining crane to guide a cable to a mining bucket.

    Abstract: Cable slack control systems for controlling cable slack and associated systems and methods are disclosed herein. In some embodiments, a cable slack control system includes two sliding carriage assemblies that can slide toward or away from one another, and biasing members disposed in between the sliding carriage assemblies. Each sliding carriage assembly can include a plurality of pullies that each receive a portion of a cable extending through the cable slack control system. When the cable is pulled out of the system, the tension in the cable causes the sliding carriage assemblies to slide toward one another and the biasing members to compress, letting cable out of the cable slack control system. When tension in the cable is released, producing cable slack, the biasing members push the sliding carriage assemblies away from one another, drawing cable into the cable slack control system.

    Abstract: Systems and methods for delivering mining material to a multimodal array of different types of sensors and classifying and sorting the mining material based on the data collected from the multimodal array of sensors. The arrays of different sensors sense the mining material and collect data which is subsequently used together to identify the composition of the material and make a determination as to whether to accept or reject the material as it passes off the terminal end of the material handling system. Diverters are positioned at the terminal end of the material handling system and are positioned in either an accept or reject position based on the data collected and processed to identify the composition of the mining material.
