A power supply outlet of the apparatus supplies power to another electronic appliance. A power supply status detector detects a state of power supply being supplied to the another electronic appliance by the power supply outlet. The presence information generator generates the presence information in accord with the state of power supply to the another electronic appliance, where the status of the power supply is obtained by the power supply status detector.
