Abstract: A facsimile apparatus includes a plurality of image reading units, each reading an image and converting the read image into image data, and a main controlling unit for receiving image data through a communication line and transmitting the received image data through another communication line to another facsimile apparatus of a destination. In the main controlling unit of the facsimile apparatus, a selector selects one of the image reading units, and a communication line connection controller connects the main controlling unit through the communication line with the selected one of the image reading units. Further, a data receiver receives image data from one of the image reading units cconnected throught the comunication line by the communication line connection controller.

Abstract: There is disclosed a management system comprising an information management apparatus for managing maintenance information of image forming apparatuses, and a transmitter connected to the image forming apparatuses. In the management system, the transmitter transmits the maintenance information to the information management apparatus through a telephone line and an exchange unit, and a line controller connects the telephone to the telephone line so as to speak using the telephone normally, and further, cancels the connection of the telephone to the telephone line and connects the transmitter to the telephone line when the transmitter transmits the maintenance information to the information management apparatus.

Abstract: A facsimile machine has a paper discharge tray, and a device for shifting image-carrying recording paper as placed on the discharge tray. The recording paper further carries information relating to senders as recorded on a leading end margin thereof.
