  • Patent number: 8167781
Abstract: A multi-spindle head exchangeable machine tool is provided with a plurality of multi spindle heads movably mounted on an annular rail. When a workpiece is machined by driving a rotary tool by a machining unit, multi spindle heads of the plurality of multi spindle heads being out of use can be separated from the machining unit. Further, a connecting device is provided with an inner slider, ball bearings fitted to an outer periphery of the inner slider, an outer slider, and a coil spring to press the outer slider toward a stopper member.

  • Patent number: 6506143
Abstract: In a finishing apparatus, a plurality of works are retained at distances from each other in a direction of an X-axis. A single spindle is disposed on a table movable in the direction of the X-axis, the spindle has an axis parallel to an axis of each of bores to be finished, and is capable of being advanced and retracted axially. A measuring device is provided that measures an inside diameter of each finished bore and which is advanced and retracted independently from the spindle in a direction along the axis of each finished bore. A combination tool is mounted at a tip end of the spindle and finishes an inner surface of any of the bores to be finished, even if the position of insertion of the combination tool into each of the bores is changed.

  • Patent number: 5452503
Abstract: A turret machine tool has a slide table mounted on a machine base for movement toward and away from a workpiece to be machined. A turret head is indexably mounted on the slide table, and a plurality of multispindle heads mounted on the turret head at spaced angular intervals in an indexing direction of the turret head, each of the multispindle heads having a plurality of spindles disposed therein. A plurality of machine tools mounted on respective ends of the spindles, and a plurality of spindle gears are mounted on the spindles, respectively. A driven gear is mounted in each of the multispindle heads in mesh with the spindle gears through a train of gears. A drive gear is axially movably disposed in the turret head for movement into and out of mesh with the driven gear in one of the multispindle heads which has been indexed.

  • Patent number: 5052540
Abstract: A rotary transfer system includes an attitude converting station for automatically changing the attitude of a pallet with a workpiece supported thereon into a predetermined attitude, at least two machining stations for machining the workpiece with machine tools, and a feeder for feeding the pallet along an arcuate feed path from the attitude converting station successively to the machining stations. The annular feed path has a pair of upper and lower arcuate movable rails disposed in each of the attitude converting station and the machining stations, and a pair of upper and lower arcuate fixed rails aligned with the movable rails.
