  • Patent number: 7333234
Abstract: A reduced-image producing method is performed by an apparatus comprising an image reading section, an image displaying section, and an image processing section. The image reading section reads an original image, which is recorded in an image recording medium of an MO disk and so forth, via a media I/F section. The image displaying section displays the original image on a CRT. The image processing section produces a template image based on image information of the original image. The template image is composed on a reduced image produced by reducing the original image. The template image may be composed on a padding region provided at a peripheral portion of the reduced image. The reduced image produced in this way is displayed or printed as a thumbnail image.

  • Patent number: 7098942
Abstract: An image capture system is provided with a USB terminal to which a drive is connected. When a user drops a coin into a coin insertion slot, the fact that the user intends to use the system is verified. As a result, a message to the effect that image data can be read using the drive is displayed on the display screen of a display unit. By observing the display on the display screen, the user can ascertain that the drive has been added onto the image capture system.

  • Publication number: 20060153065
Abstract: According to the present invention, information is provided about the result of determination of whether or not a detected failure is a failure which can be responded to, based on comparison between the failure level of the detected failure and a failure response level which has been arbitrarily set. This information enables a salesperson to determine whether or not to respond to the occurred failure himself and quickly determine whether to respond to the failure himself or to call a maintenance staff member, and thereby it is possible to avoid giving trouble to a customer. In addition, since the content itself of the detected failure is not displayed as has been done conventionally, the customer who sees the information does not feel uncomfortable.

  • Patent number: 6891634
Abstract: A plurality of printers are used in an efficient manner. The printing time of each of a plurality of printers is detected, and so is the overall printing workload of printing performed using the plurality of printers. On the basis of the detected printing times and overall printing workload, print processing by the plurality of printers is controlled in such a manner that print processing executed by the plurality of printers ends approximately simultaneously. As a result, images of a plurality of frames can be printed promptly.

  • Publication number: 20040212697
Abstract: The present invention is directed to identifying photographs to be handed to attendants at a wedding reception, for example. In front of a seat in which the attendant at the wedding reception sits, an Ir light emitting device which transmits a seat code for identifying the attendant is placed. The seat code is received, to record data representing the seat code, and the attendant is photographed, to record image data representing an image of the attendant in correlation with the seat code on a memory card of a digital camera. An attendant file including the seat code and the name of the attendant is previously created. The image of the attendant which is obtained by the photographing, the name of the attendant and so forth are related to each other using the seat code. A print is obtained from a composite image in which the image of the attendant and the name of the attendant is synthesized with a template image. The attendant to which the print is to be handed can be confirmed by seeing the name.

  • Patent number: 6793420
Abstract: If a density adjustment command is applied to a control apparatus in a printing system having a plurality of printers, each of the printers outputs sheets of density adjustment paper on which has been recorded identification information (a color) indicating which printer produced the output, and a color for performing a density adjustment. Any one of the sheets of density adjustment paper is set in a densitometer. The identification information and the density-adjustment color on the set density adjustment paper are read by the densitometer and applied to the control apparatus. Density adjustment data obtained from the density-adjustment color is transmitted to a printer specified by the identification information of the density adjustment paper. The printer that has received the density-adjustment data performs a density adjustment based upon the density adjustment data. Density can be adjusted appropriately even though the system includes a plurality of printers.

  • Patent number: 6415102
Abstract: In a digital camera in which image data produced through a photographing operation is compressed to be written in a memory card, even if a shutter release button is depressed during the recording of the image data in the memory card, the photographing can be immediately achieved. While image data stored in a buffer memory is being compressed to be stored in the memory card, the depression of shutter release button is continuously monitored. If the release button is pressed, the recording operation in the memory card is interrupted to conduct the photographing. After the photographing is finished, the image data for which the recording is interrupted is compressed to be entirely written in the memory card beginning at the start point thereof.

  • Patent number: 6195513
Abstract: An accessory unit is mounted on an electronic camera, and a printer connects to the electronic camera via a SCSI terminal of the accessory unit. An image signal is captured from a CCD in response to the releasing operation, and the image signal is analog-to-digital converted before being transferred to the accessory unit. The accessory unit converts the image signal into RGB data suitable for the printer, and outputs the RGB data to the printer so that the captured image can be simultaneously with the image-capturing. Moreover, during sequential image-capturing, captured image data is sequentially stored in an uncompressed state in a frame memory of the accessory unit. After sequential image-capturing is completed, the image data is transferred to the camera in an order in which it is stored, and compressed. Further, a background image is recorded in a memory card in advance, and an image is composed from the background image and a captured image (or a reproduced image) in the accessory unit.

  • Patent number: 5710572
Abstract: When images of several frames captured by an image sensing device such as an electronic still-video camera are displayed on a display unit, the images are made easier to view by rotating each image in conformity with the inclination of the horizontal scanning direction of the camera, with respect to the horizontal, which prevailed when the image was captured. Several frames of compressed image data stored in a memory card or external storage unit are decompressed by a compression/expansion circuit and then stored in a compression/expansion memory. The stored compressed image data thus is read out by a thin-out/rotation circuit and the data is then thinned out, processed for movement to a designated position and processed for rotation based on angle data. The processed image data is stored in a display memory. Under the control of a display control circuit, the display unit displays the image data that has been stored in the display memory.
