  • Publication number: 20130331161
Abstract: An image display system that has access to a display unit capable of stereoscopic display is provided. The image display system includes a background setting unit for setting a two-dimensional stereo image for stereoscopic view as a background; a reference surface setting unit for setting a reference surface in a virtual space such that the reference surface corresponds to a pseudo-surface that appears to exist in the two-dimensional stereo image when the two-dimensional stereo image is stereoscopically displayed; an object placing unit for placing at least an object on the reference surface; a stereoscopic image creating unit for creating an image for stereoscopic view, based on a stereo image created by picking-up an image of the object using a stereo virtual camera in the virtual space and on the two-dimensional stereo image; and a display control unit for causing the display unit to display the image for stereoscopic view.

  • Patent number: 4905753
Abstract: A twin belt continuous casting machine for producing thin slabs includes a pair of belts and a pair of edge dams for forming a metal pool, which are movable in the transverse direction of the belt. A plurality of cooling/heating chambers partitioned in the transverse direction of the belt are provided on the rear surface of the belt in the vicinity of respective side end portions of the belts. A plurality of supporting members which are capable of pressing the rear surface of the belt are respectively provided in the plurality of cooling/heating chambers. The movement of the edge dams is synchronized with the operation of the plurality of supporting members. A fluid introduced into each of the cooling/heating chambers is changed into a heating fluid or a cooling fluid in synchronism with the movement of the edge dams.

  • Patent number: 4828015
Abstract: A method of producing a composite metal material such as clad bloom by continuous casting comprises the steps of supplying molten metals of different compositions by using two immersion nozzles into the strand pool at different positions and forming a static magnetic field zone on the boundary between the two types of metals to prevent mixing of the metals of different composition. The method enables production of a composite material exhibiting a sharp boundary between the two types of metals used and enables the thickness of the respective metal layers to be easily controlled by adjusting the location of application of the static magnetic field or the withdrawal speed of the strand of cast metal.

  • Patent number: 4143211
Abstract: A method for producing steels by continuous casting, in which an addition material composed of an addition metal or alloy in the form of wire and a cover metal covering the addition metal or alloy is dissolved at a predetermined depth of the molten steel in a mold for continuous casting, and the cover metal prevents the addition metal from dissolving at undesired position in the molten steel, thus very advantageous for production of high grade steels and cored steels.
