  • Patent number: 11796637
Abstract: Systems and methods for fall detection on uneven surfaces utilizing radar are disclosed. For example, an electronic device may receive reflected energy from surfaces in an environment. Corresponding sensor data associated with an object moving on an uneven surface may be utilized to determine a velocity of the object and a height change of the object. When the velocity indicates that the object has stopped moving toward or away from the sensing device, and the height values indicate a sudden decrease in height, a fall event may be detected.

  • Publication number: 20220377584
Abstract: A base station may sense, on a cell using unlicensed spectrum, that the unlicensed spectrum is available for transmission. The base station may transmit, after sensing that the unlicensed spectrum is available, consecutive subframes. Each subframe may include a physical downlink control channel and a physical downlink shared channel.

  • Patent number: 11398070
Abstract: Systems and methods for boundary approximation utilizing radar are disclosed. For example, a heatmap of an environment may be generated utilizing data from reflected energy received at a device. The heatmap may be utilized to generate a point cloud representing the environment, where points of the point cloud indicate rates of change of energy intensity associated with surfaces in the environment. The points may be utilized to determine a mean line indicating an approximated distance between a portion of the environment, such as a wall, and the device.

  • Patent number: 10051624
Abstract: A grant that includes a resource allocation for a subframe set may be communicated. The subframe set may include a subframe resource and another subframe resource following the subframe resource. Sensing, during a sensing time prior to utilization of the subframe resource, that the unlicensed spectrum is available may be performed. Transmitting, based on the sensing, data on the subframe resource and the another subframe resource without further sensing may also be performed.

  • Patent number: 9288525
Abstract: A visual light communication (VLC) medium is used to provide communicative coupling between two or more devices. The communicative coupling supports a variety of functions such as, for example, device discovery, content discovery, and seamless transfer of media between the two or more devices.

  • Publication number: 20150131536
Abstract: Described herein are methods to enable wireless cellular operation in unlicensed and lightly licensed, (collectively referred to as license exempt spectrum. Cognitive methods are used to enable use of unlicensed bands and/or secondary use of lightly licensed bands. Wireless devices may use licensed exempt spectrum as new bands in addition to the existing bands to transmit to a wireless transmit/receive unit (WTRU) in the downlink direction, or to a base station in the uplink direction. The wireless devices may access license exempt spectrum for bandwidth aggregation or relaying using a carrier aggregation framework. In particular, a primary component carrier operating in a licensed spectrum is used for control and connection establishment and a second component carrier operating in a licensed exempt spectrum is used for bandwidth extension.
