The first seal portion includes a reinforcing insert disposed therein. A second seal portion is axially spaced from the first seal portion and a flexible membrane extends axially between the first and second seal portions. The second seal portion engages an inner diameter of a bore in a cover member and includes a reinforcing insert therein. The sensor seal takes up a small radial space yet allows for radial offset of the sensor body relative to the bore of the cover member.

Abstract: A seal is provided for sealing between an outer perimeter opening having upper and lower edges and an inner assembly having first and second members. The seal includes an outer perimeter seal including a reinforcing insert molded therein. The outer perimeter seal includes a first seal bead at a first axial end and a second seal bead at a second axial end. A flexible diaphragm portion extends radially inward from the outer perimeter seal. An inner perimeter seal is connected to a radially inner end of the flexible diaphragm portion. The inner perimeter seal includes a first seal bead on a first surface of the inner perimeter seal and a second seal bead on a second surface of the inner perimeter seal. The inner perimeter seal being adapted to be inserted between the first and second members of the inner assembly.
