    Abstract: An electrical circuit for extending the duration of the spark provided by a spark plug. Instead of a single coil (and a single pair of windings), a dual coil unit is used. The dual coil unit may be operated in a “multi-strike” mode in which the discharge of each coil is shortened and offset from that of the other coil. This provides an effective spark for an extended duration.
