    Abstract: This invention relates to a plastic substrate for a microarray chip, which is characterized in that an aminoalkylsilane with an aldehyde group derived from glutaraldehyde and introduced onto an amino group of the aminoalkylsilane exists on a surface of the plastic substrate, and also to a process for its production and a method of its use. Substrates according to the present invention have no variations in the immobilized amount of DNA fragments upon immobilization of DNA fragments, permit reproducible hybridization with high efficiency, and are excellent in storability.
