Abstract: There is provided a question answering method and system thereof. The system may comprise one or more processors; and a memory storing one or more computer programs executed by the one or more processors, wherein the one or more computer programs include instructions for an operation of preprocessing a question of a user; an operation of obtaining a first candidate passage set associated with the preprocessed question by retrieving a knowledge base using a first embedding model; an operation of obtaining a second candidate passage set associated with the preprocessed question by retrieving the knowledge base using a second embedding model; an operation of extracting one or more common passages from the first candidate passage set and the second candidate passage set; and an operation of generating an answer to the preprocessed question from the one or more common passages through a generative model.
