A first reactant including bis-hydroxyethyl terephthalate (BHET) is provided. 2-(2-hydroxyethoxy)ethyl 2-hydroxyethyl terephthalate (BHEET) is added to the first reactant including BHET to form a second reactant. The second reactant is hydrogenated.
