  • Publication number: 20240146608
Abstract: In implementations of the present disclosure, there is provided a method for access point (AP) validation. The method comprises detecting a trigger event for validating a network including a plurality of APs, and selecting a target AP from the plurality of APs based on a neighbor table of an AP associated with the detected trigger event. The method further comprises determining a validation case corresponding to the detected trigger event from a knowledge base. The method further comprises sending the validation case to the target AP, and, receiving a result of performance of the validation case from the target AP in response to the validation case being performed. Implementations of the present disclosure can validate whether the network change takes effect in the network automatically, and can improve the validation efficiency of the network changes.

  • Publication number: 20240089246
Abstract: Implementations of the present disclosure relate to setting a system time of an access point (AP) for server certificate validation. A method comprises obtaining a default time as a system time of the AP after an AP boots up. The method also comprises obtaining a memory time from a flash memory of the AP. The method also comprises updating the system time with the memory time obtained from the flash memory. The method also comprises validating a server certificate received from an authentication server based on the system time. The system time is synchronized with a network time if the server certificate is successfully validated based on the system time. The synchronized system time is then written into the flash memory. In this way, the authentication can be performed based on a reasonable system time even if the AP reboots.

  • Publication number: 20230125405
Abstract: Implementations of the present disclosure relate to automatic AP failure recovery with assistance of a neighbor AP. A method includes detecting, by a first access point (AP), a failure at the first AP. The method further includes transmitting, by the first AP to a second AP, a query about an operating status of the second AP. The first AP then receives, from the second AP, a response to the query, the response indicating the operating status of the second AP. The method also includes determining, by the first AP and based at least in part on the operating status of the second AP, that the failure is not indicative of an event also impacting the second AP. The method further includes utilizing, by the first AP, the second AP to assist with recovery from the failure.

  • Patent number: 9215609
Abstract: The present disclosure discloses a method and network device for measuring wireless link quality. The disclosed network device retrieves a plurality of packet transmission data corresponding to a plurality of transmission rates at which packets are transmitted over a wireless link between two wireless nodes in a wireless network. The network device also determines a wireless link quality metric value corresponding to the wireless link at least based on at least an average throughput associated with the plurality of transmission rates. The wireless link quality metric value can be further based on a maximum throughput corresponding to a hardware component in at least one of the two wireless nodes. The wireless link quality metric value can be used in monitoring or managing the wireless network.

  • Patent number: 9060322
Abstract: The present disclosure discloses a network device and/or method for preventing loops in routing paths of network frames in a wireless digital network. The disclosed network device at a network node receives a frame from a wired network. The frame includes a site identifier uniquely corresponding to the wired network, a source physical address, and a destination physical address. If the network node is selected as a representative portal node, the network device forwards the frame. Otherwise, if another network node is selected as the representative portal node, the network device drops the received frame to prevent forming a loop in a routing path corresponding to the frame. If not other network is selected as the representative portal node, the network device floods the frame to other network nodes in the wireless network.
