  • Publication number: 20010022858
Abstract: Disclosed herein is an image processing apparatus, in which an object image focused by a lens is split into a plurality of images by means of a light splitting section. These images are converted into image data items by a plurality of imaging devices which are arranged with their imaging area overlapping in part. The image data items are stored temporarily in an image storing section. A displacement detecting section detects displacement coefficients (rotation angle R and parallel displacement S) from the image signals representing the mutual overlap region of two images which are to be combined and which are represented by two image data items read from the image storing section. The position of any specified pixel of the image displayed is identified by the pixel signal generated by the corresponding pixel of any imaging device.

  • Patent number: 6211911
Abstract: An image processing apparatus comprises an image inputting section having a photographing lens, a semiconductor image pickup element, such as a CCD, an A/D converting section for converting an obtained image signal to a digital signal, image correcting sections for subjecting respective images which are obtained at a plurality of image inputting sections to correction in terms of geometric displacement due to optical aberration, an image composing section for joining corrected images, a monitor and a printer. When a plurality of images are to be joined, a geometric displacement, such as aberration of the photographing lens, is corrected on a to-be-composed image on the basis of the photographing condition so that a joined image is obtained.

  • Patent number: 6119937
Abstract: A threshold determination/binarization circuit and a recording medium for an information reproduction system, wherein the diameter of a reference dot detected by a reference dot diameter detection section is compared with a predetermined dot diameter as a standard value, and the threshold is adjusted such that the difference between the reference dot diameter and the standard value equals a predetermined target value, thereby obtaining the same binarization effect with respect to image signals obtained with different transfer characteristics (different media, recording states, and optical systems). This circuit also includes a maximum/minimum value detection section that detects the maximum and minimum values of an image signal level corresponding to a dot code. A threshold is calculated by using an internal ratio representing the radio between the maximum and minimum values so as to stabilize a reading operation against illumination and recording irregularity, contamination of a dot code, and the like.

  • Patent number: 5617484
Abstract: An image binarizing apparatus, which comprises an image sensor for inputting a character image or a line image, an A/D converter for digitizing the output of the image sensor, a frame memory for temporary storage of the digital image, a window circuit for generating address information for dividing the stored image into a predetermined number of partial images, a brightness extractor for obtaining the highest brightness, lowest brightness and average brightness for the pixels for each block, a neural network which provides the optimum threshold value based on pre-learned data when receiving the highest brightness, lowest brightness and average brightness, a binarizer for binarizing each pixel of a partial image block from the frame memory based on the optimum threshold value ("white pixel" when the value of the brightness of the pixel is larger than the output value of the neural network, and "black pixel" when the value of the brightness of the pixel is smaller than the output value of the neural network), a
